Kat Corey

The Couple
Some of you may already know us well, maybe even too well! But for those who don't, here's a little look into the lives of
Future Mr & Mrs Egan.
We can't wait for you to be a part of our memories.

We still celebrate every Valentine's Day. On our very first one together, we both tried to surprise each other by decorating the hotel room with flowers and chocolates but ended up running into each other in the lobby.

We buy our first home!
Corey put an awful lot of faith in Kat at let her handle all the finances, even though she has no clue what she is doing. Corey's only job was to transfer the deposit to the bank, which only took 2 attempts after he somehow sent the money to the wrong account.

Corey used to work in Melbourne, while Kat stayed in the Gold Coast, and they took turns flying back and forth to see each other almost every weekend!

As Kat is in charge of their life admin, it was impossible for Corey to surprise her. She packed the ring herself, and made sure to leave a night free on their Bali itinerary for him to propose.
On the night, he had the ring box in his suit jacket, which would have been completely normal if it wasn't 28 degrees and 80% humid. It was a special night nonetheless!
When Corey asked Kat to marry him, he did it in the most romantic way possible, by asking her to get his inhaler from her handbag and kneeling while she turned away. To top it off, instead of asking "will you marry me?" like normal people, he said "well aren't you going to put the ring on? The photographer is waiting".

Our intimate little engagement party with our closest friends. It was a great night for almost everyone except Corey who was a little bit wobbly walking back to the hotel after a few drinks and fell into the river, cutting his hand resulting in him needing stitches 2 weeks before we were scheduled to be back in Bali.

When Corey finally convinced Kat to try camping, we bought a rooftop tent because Kat won't sleep on the floor, but the tent doesn't fit on the rack, which doesn't fit on the truck, which isn't a 4x4. So at 8am on a Tuesday while Kat was at the office, Corey went to "have a look" at some other trucks to get an idea of how to set up the tent. At 11am, after Kat came out of her meeting, Corey had bought a new truck.

Corey was determined to drink some Fanta from a bag because he heard that they do this in Thailand from some guy one time. It took us 8 days to hunt this down. Here he also discovers that Kat's cooking is pretty average compared to her Grandma's.
Despite never having tried a lot of things, Corey is convinced he doesn't like them. Here, he learns that he loves mango after Kat forced him to try a smoothie.
Kat continues to force him to try new things. Recently, he has discovered that he doesn't mind the colour green.

We went all the way to Thailand to plan our Big Day. Since we were there, we celebrated our 7 year anniversary with this lovely, super romantic private dinner on the beach that Kat secretly booked and forgot to tell Corey about.
We have found a mutual love for the ocean, and we are both certified Open Water divers.
We have dived with Manta Rays in Nusa Lembongan, the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, islands in Krabi, shipwrecks in NZ, and our next stop is to see the Whale Sharks in the Maldives.

Kat is the couple's life administrator.
Corey has been in charge of booking travel once, where he managed to find a reasonable hotel over Easter weekend in Tewantin, a neighbouring suburb of Noosa. It was almost too good to be true!
What he really did was book us into a hotel in Tanawha, which is 40 minutes away from Noosa. He has never been allowed to book anything since.

2 days after we got back from Bali, we didn't want to unpack and went for a drive... to the animal shelter. And now we have a dog, and a cat. It's a zoo.

Brisbane, Dec'24
To fulfil Kat's dream of eating at this underwater restaurant, and also because we paid a non-refundable deposit, Corey had to suffer through a 7-course seafood menu. It is safe to say he won't let her go back there again.

Nusa Dua, May'24
Although he does not like seafood, Corey wanted to impress Kat's parents when he first met them so he bravely ate a piece of calamari. It took him approximately 7 minutes to chew it.

Kat and Corey both love animals (ask Kat about fish if you have a spare 2hrs), and visiting a zoo or aquarium is a must-do for every holiday. Our record in 1 trip is 2 aquariums, a zoo, and an alpaca farm.
In spite of this, Kat is not a big fan of nature. In all of their years and adventures together, the coup have gone on exactly 0 camping trips.

Two days before going to Bali, Kat couldn't sleep so went on her phone and she booked another Bali trip for November that same year while Corey was asleep.
Having pulled this stunt, Kat doubled down on her craziness 2 days after they returned, by going out to buy groceries and coming back with a trip to Thailand booked.
She regrets nothing.

Almost every year since 2018, we have kept up the tradition of going to Noosa, our favourite domestic destination, and dining at Bistro C, for Corey's birthday.

The couple have many mutual interests, especially in music and comedy. They attend many events throughout the year.
Here Kat is holding a Snoop Dollar that she caught from the mosh pit of the Snoop Dogg concert, an event they had to wait over a year for as it was rescheduled due to COVID-19.

When Corey first left Tullamore and his family back in 2017, he planned to return within a year. Then he met Kat, and the rest is history.

You may be thinking "they sure spend a lot of time together", and you are right. We absolutely do. Too much? Maybe. But there is a lot of love and laughter in our relationship, and we hope to have many more.
